Smart Phones and the Next Generation Of Surfing

Posted by admin under on May 18th, 2011.

Let’s face it – technology is everywhere. The growth of the Internet, computers, and cell phones have made life within society easier, even if there’s a bit of a backlash when it comes to personal communication. But there are plenty of benefits for technology, especially in terms of the growth of smartphones.

Smartphones are, essentially, handheld computers. PDAs, if you will, that can also make phone calls. Travelers, students, and employees in general have taken to smartphones due to the fact of not only their mobility, but the features they can receive them, such as apps, calendars, and customization.

Smartphones are capable of not only making phone calls or texting people, but you can search the Internet. Most phones will come with a stock browser, but the height of the Apple store, Microsoft Marketplace, and the Android Market have made getting popular browsers – like Firefox, Chrome, and Opera – on your phone and even syncing your desktop/laptop bookmarks with your smartphones.

Just as laptops made surfing the net at the coffee shop hip, mobile phones now allow people to surf the net while in the car (hopefully while in the passenger or back seat) or on the bus or even while on the plane. And there doesn’t seem to be a stop it – 4G technology is emerging as a fast speed for mobile technology and the rise of the tablet could mean that we no longer even need a home computer on a desk.
